Facebook announced on Thursday that its going to radically redesign the complete Facebook News Feed for good. So far from the demos we have seen, The latest news feed changes look mesmerizing! Unlike the Facebook Timeline which has gone through a period of constant controversy until people settled sensing there is no going back.
The latest changes have been inspired from the Mobile version of Facebook, Where you have a neat sidebar containing all your options and chats. Obviously for me the Mobile version ought to be the cleanest version.
Facebook themselves admit the previous news feed (current one for many) is cluttered and the new feed’s main aim is to unclutter the news feed and make the important posts from your friends become visible easily. Facebook has done a great work in removing all the extra buttons from the feed and integrating them into the sidebar.
Bright and High Resolution Photos!
The new News Feed has become filled with high-res photos, videos, music, apps and much more. And so it adapts with a new look that is supposed to fill up your screen the way it is with the Mobile version but with extra crumbs.
Your current news feed will have a See more link if your friend’s status update is longer than a predefined character count, The new News Feed has most likely removed this button and you can see the full status in one go!
You are also provided with a a Feed Selector menu which allows you to choose between Photos, Music, Apps etc.
Also comes the option to choose your close friend’s feeds in the News Feed with ease. No more of those unwanted junk spams from those pages you had liked back in 2009 when you were new to Facebook but always forget to unlike the pages.
These are the changes in brief, Well as with any other new features Facebook has decided to roll out this one to a few groups of people first and later to all others. You can get it soon by opting in to the list of select few by following this:
