Online Gambling not only a waste time but also wastes money of those who engage in them. After the Unlawful Internet Gambling Enforcement Act (UIGEA) was passed in 2006 many Online Poker and Gambling sites were shut down by their owners due to the fear of LAW.
But two sites which did not matter these laws made huge success in the Poker Market and they are PokerStars and FullTiltPoker (I wont link to the sites).
The sites were a major online living for many gamblers and Affiliates. This shutdown might have made many of them search for new jobs!
The following is the excerpt from LATimes.com!
The FBI had shut down two of the sites, Full Tilt Poker and PokerStars, by Friday evening and were working to do the same with the third, Absolute Poker. Online visitors were greeted with a message saying, “This domain name has been seized by the F.B.I. pursuant to an Arrest Warrant,” and an enumeration of federal anti-gambling statutes and penalties.
Though these two were the main caters of Poker to the US market but they were hosted in Ireland after the UIGEA Law was passed.
