iOS 6 Launched – How To Download & Install Apple’s Latest Mobile Operating System

Apple has finally launched the latest addition to its Mobile Operating System arena, The much awaited iOS 6 for Apple’s Mobile devices. The latest version of iOS has tons of new features that are sure to make the update worth. Have a look at the features introduced in the iOS6.

What does the iOS 6 feature?

  1. Maps : Apple is slowly withdrawing its relationship with Google which can be proved with the fact that iOS 6 doesn’t feature an inbuilt Youtube App (fortunately Google has built one and is available for free in the Apple App Store.) same as the case with Youtube App, iOS 6 has removed the native Google Maps and replaced it with the iOS Maps.
The new iOS Maps app offers features like spoken navigation, vector maps and more. You can just tell Siri where you want to go and let the app start getting you there with one of the cleanest, least distracting navigation screens ever to appear on a GPS unit. The icons are big, bold and readable at a glance, and the spoken navigation are timed perfectly so that you don’t miss a turn. You can even turn the screen off and let the voice guide you. The Apple’s database of favorite places is powered by Yelp!
  2. Phone : If you’re driving or in a meeting when a call comes in, you can just flick the screen upwards to reveal two new buttons: Remind Me Later and Reply With Message. The remind me later offers choices like “In 1 hour” or “When I get home” (a message will remind you to call back) while the second one offers template messages, like “I’ll call you later” or you can set a custom message, that let your caller know you can’t take the call now.
The other feature is Do Not Disturb where in all calls except the ones you whitelist will be barred and the phone won’t show a tiny response but the people in the Whitelist (favorites for example) will pass through.
  3. Siri : Siri has got better now, It can now understand more common questions like “When is the next show of Bourne Legacy playing in ___ theater” and it replies with exact information. You can also update your Facebook and Twitter status with the new Siri.

These were just a few to highlight, You can find the whole list on the Apple’s introduction page : What’s new in iOS 6.
