“This will be a major Microsoft announcement – you will not want to miss it.” Were the words that Microsoft had told the Press Meet last time. To ‘little’ much of a surprise Microsoft yesterday unveiled the ‘Surface’ Tablet which is claimed to be revolutionary as its one of its kind tablet that can be used both as a PC and a Tablet.
The tablet comes in two versions, One running the Windows RT and the other one much popular Windows 8 – Pro.
Now for the Features of Microsoft Surface Tablet.
Size: The Surface tablet is 9.33mm thin for the Windows RT and 13.5mm for the Pro version.
OS : Windows RT – Known during development as Windows on ARM, will be a version of the Windows 8 operating system for ARM devices.
Windows 8 Pro
Input/Output : Two USB 2.0 Ports,MicroSD Port for the Surface RT version and MicroSDXC for the Surface Pro version. The RT version has a Micro HD Video port while the Pro version has a Mini DisplayPort Video.
Storage : Surface running Windows RT will be available in 32 GB and 64GB sizes, while Surface running Windows 8 Pro will be available in 64 GB and 128 GB sizes.
Screen : Surface has a 10.6-inch 16:9 widescreen HD display screen. The screen is made of the tough Gorilla Glass to make unexpected falls and bumps invisible to device in terms of damage. A Touch Cover for the device protects the screen, the inside of the 3mm cover doubles as a fully functional keyboard with a built-in trackpad when opened up. A stylus also comes with the Pro version, and attaches to the side of the tablet for easy storage.

When will Microsoft Surface Tablet be available?
Although there is no official announcement on the availability of the device, It can be guessed that since it ships with Windows 8 Pro.. The device will be available only after Windows 8 is launched which will be around Late October or November.
