Every webpage you access online has a few different sections. The main part of this is the content section which usually contains the Title and the content part with images and videos. The other section includes the webpage’s header, footer, sidebar and social share buttons, ads etc.
When browsing webpages these are common and doesn’t get in the way. But when you are reading some intense articles like a story or something or when the webpage is too cluttered with unwanted stuff. There is an easier way to read these articles.
There are many applications and web services that help in doing the same like Readability or Pocket. But I found another browser addon that does the same thing efficiently and without much clicks and lag.
The addon am talking about is Evernote’s Clearly extension. Evernote as you might know is a complete solution to your note taking, reminder and is packed with tons of other features.
The difference between Readability and Clearly is that Readability converts a webpage and redirects the user to its own domain for reading. This creates a lag which I find bugging.
Clearly on the other hand takes around a second to clean any article and display on the essential content on screen without any kind of redirection.
Below you can find an interesting article I found online : Roadtripping Through Scotland and England.
Here is how the webpage looked before using Clearly.
Here is how the webpage looks after using Clearly on the webpage.
As you can see the webpage looks very neat and is easier to read without all the distractions like Logos, Sidebars and Ads.
You will notice a few buttons on the right side of the above image, with those you can save the article to your Evernote account easily with one click.
There are multiple themes to choose from which will change the way the article is rendered, the background, font size etc. Also you can print directly from the extension.
You can Highlight important parts of the article and it will be synced to your Evernote’s saved article.
If you don’t have an Evernote account, get one now its completely free. If you register with my referral link, you will get 1 month of free premium account. Click here to register : Evernote Signup
After you register, download the Evernote Desktop or Android/iOS app and start using it.
You can install Clearly on Chrome and Firefox from here : Evernote Clearly
Try the extension on this webpage. Let me know how it worked out. Do share the article with your Facebook friends.
