This feature was being tested by Facebook on a few number of profiles. Today it seems the bookmarking feature was released to public, atleast I got it today. Introducing this feature has made it simpler to bookmark stuff we see on our News Feed. No more taking screenshots or bookmarking in the browser.
Your Saved bookmarks are private and only visible to you unless you decide to share it.
You can bookmark Links, Places, Music, Books, Movies, TV Shows, Events and the Archive probably contains all your past bookmarks.
This will come very handy when you come across important links or long notes that you can’t browse at that moment but want to save for future. Bloggers will benefit a lot from this, collecting ideas just got easier with Save.
It seems the feature is a bit buggy right now as it didn’t work on all posts for me or may be wasn’t supposed to work on all. I will have to check that.
After you bookmark an item, it gets saved into your profile and you can access all your Saved bookmarks via a link to a page in the left sidebar of Facebook. This is how the page looks when you first visit it. Explaining the features.
Bookmarking an item.
To Save/Bookmark an item from news feed, you just have to click on the Menu (drop down) button on the top right corner of the post and click on Save “item name”. Another way is to click on the ‘Save’ button that might popup under the link/music.
You have to click on the ‘Saved’ link in the left sidebar of Facebook below the Newsfeed/Messages links.
This is how your saved bookmarks look like in the page.
Does your Facebook profile have this Save feature enabled? Let me know via your Comments and hit the Like button.
