Why Did Anonymous Take Such a Move?

Anonymous is a well know popular Hackers Group who recently had hacked NATO and leaked many confidential docs. Anonymous took the move to hack Facebook just for the cause of peoples privacy as they had discovered that Facebook is selling its users private data to the governments.

Anonymous’s Message

In a message posted on video-sharing site YouTube[Video Above], Anonymous said people who want to protect the freedom of information should “join the cause and kill facebook for the sake of your own privacy.”

In the Video Transcript Anonymous speaks the following lines:

Facebook has been selling information to government agencies and giving clandestine access to information security firms so that they can spy on people from all around the world. Some of these so-called whitehat infosec firms are working for authoritarian governments, such as those of Egypt and Syria,

Whats There to Worry?

Although Anonymous claims to hack facebook to protect the privacy of common social networkers, It is also to be noted that Facebook Holds the personal information of millions of people and if that would be breached then the Game is over for Facebook and its users.
